Chris was born and raised in Galax, VA where he shares an office with his business partner, Lynn Funk. Chris and his wife, Karen, along with their three children, Angelica, Philip, and Allison currently reside in the neighboring town of Hillsville, VA. He attended King University in Bristol, TN with studies in Business Administration. He enjoys golf and collecting vintage guitars and amplifiers but his greatest joy is spending time with the family.

Chris has been in the financial services industry since 1992. He currently holds the following industry designations: CLU (Chartered Life Underwriter), ChFC (Chartered Financial Consultant), AAMS (Accredited Asset Management Specialist), AWMA (Accredited Wealth Management Advisor). Chris also holds the CKA (Certified Kingdom Advisor) designation from Kingdom Advisors, Inc. This designation is awarded to professionals who have demonstrated themselves to be believers in Jesus Christ, able to apply biblical wisdom in their counsel, are technically competent in their chosen profession, have high ethics and integrity, and are biblical stewards in their personal and professional life.

The Galax branch office offers BRI (Biblical Responsible Investing) through investment screening tools for clients who desire to have their investments be in line with their beliefs.
